This rust brown beer was voted “Best hobby beer in Belgium” in April 2011. It subtle aromas of fried banana and dark chocolate with a caramel-like roasted malt. A twist of sweet crossed with a taste of fondant, chicory and anise ending with a long, dry, roasted, hop bitter aftertaste.
The brewer’s name is Andy Dewilde and his products come to us via Artisanal Imports. We will be waiting it’s arrival in California.
We had met in Poperinge a year ago and I was lucky enough to see him again last weekend in Oostende at the 18th Annual Bierjutterij.
